I've heard of about 1/4, but I'd definitely check Resellerratings before purchasing from any unknowns. Some have semi-active forums as well to get some feedback from.

Do you guys remember www.mobshop.com way back in the day? You could buy the hottest items at a discounted price if you got enough people in on the deal. It was sure exciting back then to get a Palm V that costs $400 for $295 shipped.

Man... I was too slow! I had this killer idea for a Woot like site that shows two deals at once, except that the deals would automatically change when one of them sold out. Kinda like a 24/7 WootOff, except that you would have always two things to choose from instead of one. I could even throw an occassional "superdeal" like a $5 iPod or HDTV for a couple of minutes each week, just to keep people visiting all the time.

It looks like there is now too much competition with all these new daily deal sites, though. Bummer

There's always room for another good one. If someone would make a good buyer and be able to build relationships with distributors/wholesalers etc., they could probably build a nice business.

it does seem that several of them are just cycling through the same products... so, i agree with you, at least a few of them either have the same supplier or are just the same company...
