Yet again guyver has a stick up his anus over something....
Washington is NOT a right to work state:

Which is the underlying situation I believe that the previous poster was referring to.
Wow...I'm HR and you're more uptight than anyone who works in my company; IT, HR, Finance, or otherwise.
Hell... IT alone would have your ass in a sling for filling a room with balloons, as it messes with the static electricity in the environment and can cause issues with the computer.
[edit] I take it back. I saw a recruiter get fired for webexing gay porn to 250 hiring managers on a training. That was firing for stupid too.
Guyver states that you could fire someone for having "blonde hair" and that person could easily come back a sue for some sort of discrimination under Title VII and it would end up costing the company $10K just to get dismissed in summary
Not uptight... i work in a company of 15,000 and have actually SEEN this. I have also seen HR walk people out the door for it.
this thread became another level of awesome.
At my last company, my idiot coworker tried to send me a net send message but instead, screwed up and sent it to the entire domain. The message simply said "Loser." Of course, it had her user name on the message so they tracked her down and wrote her up (she was not fired). Knowing the company's stupid logic, I had a feeling they'd talk to me even though I had nothing to do with it. Sure enough, they did talk to me and told me the aforementioned coworker said I "taught" her how to do it. I was not happy but nothing really happened to me either. I am still pissed at this person (who is still a friend, believe it or not) to this day for throwing me under the bus.
I got this same coworker on at my current company 4 or 5 months ago because despite the idiocy, she was a hard worker and I'd rather have a hard worker than a slacker who knew it all. Well, guess what? She had completely changed and was incredibly negative about everything and went whining to management about any little perceived slight. It really got on my nerves and I told her repeatedly that she needed to get a positive attitude and quit worrying about everyone else and tattling on them. Guess what? She got fired. Strike two against her -- she threw me under the bus at the former company and now got fired after I gave her a glowing reference.
what do you have against salt and butter? If only she were eating that popcorn naked...
Why was net send even enabled? Just curious.
You need to work for a different company then.
nope. love the company i work for. The CEO is old school.. everyone on his floor wears Suit and Tie everyday regardless of their position. He doesn't put up with much crap.
Companies like that aren't for everyone... me... i like the company and like the people i work with.
