Our one dog has cancer

He's such a young dog, but we found out recently that his stomach that really blew up was all cancer. It's too far for an operation, according to the vet.

My mother and brother are taking it really hard, it hasn't hit me yet.

The scariest directions you can recieve from the vet is, "Keep him comfy, if he starts feeling a lot of pain, put him to sleep."

If there was a chance to operate, how much would it cost? I just felt a bump on my dog the other day; that's why i'm wondering.

a pet in pain is terrible to endure. at least you can explain things to humans and they have more power of expression.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I lost one of my cats to cancer (bone cancer, caused by a routine injection he had one of his front legs amputated in september, which had good odds of fixing him.. but it didn't.) in march. it's no fun at all.

One of my dogs had cancer. She probably died from it, too (never really found out. Died a few weeks ago). She was 13, so she had a good run.
My uncle once told my mom that dogs only have a short time, so enjoy it while you have it, but accept it when it's over.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I can relate to how you feel, we put to sleep one of our dogs last year that had cancer.

I just had my 12 1/2 year old female Samoyed, Keesha, spend 4 days in a critical care animal hospital with a severe UTI due to bladder stones. She is doing OK now but is still on antibiotics and may still require surgery to remove the stones - iffy due to her age and ailing hips.

Anyway - I know how you, your bro and mom feel. Keesha and family send their best.
