Overstock has them at a great price (IMO)

If you dont know a thing about these speakers you must of been under a rock! All I can say is I own a pair and if you want to piss off your neighbors, bust the windows out of your house, need something to muffle the old ladies bitching in your ear, and want heart pounding bass from music or when stuff blows up YOU gotta get your hands on one of these!

But hey, you dont have to take my word on it. if thats not enough for you just stick Z560 in you favorite browser and see that they have gotten nothing but great reviews on them.

So there you have it a super hot deal on super kick butt speakers. Why you still reading this go buy them dammit!

Untill 10/15/04 take an additional $5 off $50 brining it to under $73 shipped. (Thanks Smokin Gun)

If you can find it cheaper referb'd from a reliable source (I have ordered several things from overstock and they have become my best friend) then by all means post it

Arg... Maybe this isnt the place but I am so pissed at Overstock. Ordered a refurbed Logitech GT4 Steering Wheel for $75. They sent a joystick. In the time it took for them to get the returned joystick and reprocess the wheel order, it had gone out of stock and they just issued a refund. I specifically told the guy to make sure they reserved stock for my order. I guess that isnt possible in their system. Or they just dont care.

More on topic, I have these speakers, and OMG they are amazing. I worked from home yesterday and had them cranked up with some of my current favorite music. There is nothing like having well-powered surround THX-certified speakers enveloping you in a warm and comforting layer of aural bliss. It's like being in the womb. The sound-womb. Highly recommended new, dunno about the quality of refurbs.

I am and have been quite happy with overstock. I have bought several things from them and had one PC controller show up doa. I did their real time chat with a rep and right away they said NP and took back the controller. They didnt charge me a restock fee and the even picked up the shipping as well. They even sent me a UPS label so all I did was slap it on and call ups. I couldnt of been happier.

As far as referb it is no different then I think buying used. They are gennerally sent back to the factory. Checked over and repair if needed and resold at a savings. I have bought referbished vidio cards and sounds cards and how many here have bought referb'd mobos from newegg? As for sound they will sound the same as if you bought it new so that shouldnt be any consideration. Overstock warrents everything they sell including referbs for 30 days so you really not loosing much at all buying from them.

I had a pair of Logitech 680Z, I actually went and returend them because

1. the sound quality is good for PC speakers, but is no means audiphile quality at all. The sats which are on the same on this set, are in a way muddy. This is mainly because there is no tweeter. I don't think any speaker that wants to produce accurate highs can be done without a tweeter, sorry..

2. The subwoofer is extremely powerful, but at the same time extremely MUDDY. Its sloppy, and not very accurate. If you want nothing but big booms, fine.. but if you want great sounding bass Pass on these.

3. There is a large HISS. Once sound is playing you don't notice it that much, but once its off its there. This is because of the high power amps and poor design flaws.

In any event, I would say these are decent / good PC speakers, but nothing more. If you consider yourself a big audio person I'd pass on these and aim for "Klipsch pc speakers promedia"

Keep in mind that we are talking $75 speakers and by all means provide a link to a better set of speakers for less.

I love my Z-560's.

Agreed. For the price to performance these are great. While these are not Top of the line speakers, these are great for the money and for the casual listener. Good all purpose speakers. I have the nonTHX version of these... for half the price and they were new...I've been wanting to upgrade...
Note these are older Logitech models as they have "newer" versions out. But then again, newer does always equal better.

WOW I really dont know what happened to your but mine are no where near wat you are describing. Plus the fact there is alot of reviews that claim that these are par and in some cases better then the Klipsch promedias. I have owned the Promedias in 2.1 and 5.1 form and I personally say this kills them. So I honestly dont know why, your, had sucked but mine are clear as a bell with crisp highs and chest pounding (no means muddy) lows. I even read a review where they have heard stuff in songs that hey never heard using other speaker set ups. I have to agree. I listened to rush and I actully heard the pick plucking the stings and the cymbals were so clean I couldnt believe it. OH and if that trully was the case they would of never gotten stamped with THX on them.

Wow.
I jumped on Z2200s for $59 after rebate, this is a KILLER deal. These speakers sound great. I have no hiss, and they play loud and clear.
Good stuff.

ok while I agree that the comparison between Klipsch and Logitech are a matter of opinion, you can't say "this kills the other" and be taken seriously. None of the high end Logitechs or Klipsch's kill the other. You may like the Logitech's better but unless you're on their payroll, stop exaggerating

I feel I can say that one kills the other because this is a free country (for the mean time) and I have that right to my opinion. Just as you did making yours saying neither one kills the other and then tried to opress(sp) me like a communist by telling me what to do

And i am sorry but not only does it kill the promedias in sound but find one at this price that even if it is equal to didnt cost you an arm and a leg to get it so there it killed it twice.
IMO of course and I'm not exaggerating. Read the reviews. Every one gives it 9/10. And the best part is you got something that sounds as good or better as Klipsch fo $73. OMG this is insane if I had the money I would buy them just to hook up to my tv sets, my gaming console, friends and family for christmas, or just to have as a spare (damnit Logitech and overstock you better see this and hook me up!!!). Hey one in the kitchen hooked up to the portable mp3 player for kick butt sound as you cook or clean OR just ditch the old boom box in the bedroom. The possabilites of what to do with such good sounding speakers for cheap are endless. ( Logitech and overstock )

Pulled from the same sources (links below with reviews):

On the Logitech Z-560:
At 400 watts RMS, the 560s boast the highest power rating of any 4.1 multimedia system. (Altec's 641s have 400 watts of "system power," but that's more of a peak power rating. The 4.1s have 400 watts of "burst power.") Each satellite gets a gutsy 53 watts and the sub gets a whopping 188 watts.
The 560 subwoofer is truly amazing, and is really an oddity given the price of the system. I spent about an hour today going between the ProMedia 4.1s and the 560s just to compare the subs. I don't want anyone to think I'm just badmouthing Klipsch, because I really respect and enjoy their products, but the Logitech thumper is simply better. Firstly, the Logitech has much more power. This not only means that it can play more loudly, which it plainly can, but also that it can achieve high levels without straining. I was running Gang Starr through both systems and was amazed at how much the Logitech had to give. When the Klipsch finally farted away the Logitech was running at about 60%. The Klipsch just didn't have the juice to keep up. Of course, overall volume is a pretty crude measuring stick. The 560 sub is also fast and full, with very little artificial flair. It ran through blazing kick patterns, responding to the subtlest variations with ease. The only advantage the Klipsch had was in the upper lows. The Logitech sub seemed to have a slight dip in response in this area. However, the low end as a whole was very, very well represented

On the creative:
The front center channel gets 20 watts RMS and each of the others gets 8 watts RMS. The sub, which is equipped with a 6.5-inch driver, pumps out 22 watts RMS. This makes for a total of 100 watts RMS. While this isn't earth-shaking it is powerful enough to fill a bedroom or dorm room with clear sound. Many contemporary systems are outfitted with absurdly powerful amps, but Creative had to keep the cost down somehow. The amp could be a little more robust, but I think it's a fair value considering the attractive price.

What does this mean. Yes they will sound a ton better. As for sound it not only fills my house (the entire house) with music and heart thumping bass but I have pissed my neighbors 2 doors down from me claiming it was to loud. Not to mention the amounts of nick nacks of my wifes through out the house that has fallen off the walls.

Source for the Creative
Source for the Logitech

And no I absolutly have nothing better to do. I am disabled and a MR Mom watching over my 3 year old all kinds of pathetic time on my hands.
