I have a unique situation with Outlook 2003. I built a new AMD 64 machine in December and installed Office 2003 with no problems. It ran perfectly for 3 months. Recently the machine crashed unexpectedly due to overclocking while Outlook was open. Now, when I try to open it, I get a message saying the Outlook folders are unavailable and that I need to go to "mail" on the control panel and re-enter my user information. I did this, over and over, but it still won't open.
I restarted.
Repaired, then Uninstalled Outlook, then uninstalled Office, then reinstalled, several times. Same thing. I uninstalled 200e and installed Office XP, same result.
I uninstalled 2003 and installed Outlook from Office2000. It functions, but there is no reply to address in reply emails. Very strange. At best it is semi-functional.
Outlook express also doesn't work.
I tried a couple different variations of System Restore, same result.
Now I'm using Thunderbird, which works fine, but I'm mystified.
All of my other Office applications as well as other software applications work perfectly.
Anyone want to give this one a shot? I really like some of the features of Outlook 2003 and I would like to get it restored.
Here's my Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP2 Office 2003
Amd 64 3000 Running stable at 2.35 GHZ. Asus A8V Deluxe,BIOS 1009, 1 gig Mushkin Pc3200 Ram. 2-120 gig Samsung Sata drives on the Promise controller. Nvidia 5700 Pro Video 256 megs. No other issues, generally very stable.
I did recently upgrade to the 1009 BIOS and the machine has been slightly unstable at clock speeds above 2.4 GHZ. However, Outlook worked fine with the new BIOS installed for two or three weeks.
I restarted.
