Outlook 2007 and multiple connections

I have a user on WinXP, a wireless connection from one part of town, and a local wireless connection for another application...and email.

He has Outlook 2007, and can only send/receive when I disable the wired connection...to force it to use the wireless.

I have spent hours trying to set it up so that Outlook uses the wireless connection by default instead of the wired, but am unable.

Does anyone know if there is a setting I missed or a workaround for this problem?

Outlook doesn't care what kind of connection it is using, I'd start by fixing your connectivity on the Wired side.

Thats what I was afraid of. I don't have any control over the wired

I was hoping for a more elegant solution than having the user disconnect the wired to check email.

I suppose as a possible work around you could specify some static routes so that your path to that server was always through the wireless connection:
route add x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 y.y.y.y metric 1
where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your mail server and y.y.y.y is the wireless gateway IP address. If it works correctly it will get cleared from your route table next time you reboot, to make it persistent just add a '-p' to the end.
