Outlook email address fill

Hey guys, got a dumb one. Just did a full restore of a computer and reloaded Office 2003. Everything went swimmingly except after the reload, Outlook 2003 does not pull email addresses from my address book when I start typing in the address field. I've never seen this snafu, is there a setting I'm forgetting or that got fubar'd?

I didn't think Outlook 2003 pulled addresses from the address book. I thought it pulled it from a list genenrated from addresses you have used in the past. Mine pulls address for people not in my address book, but have e-mailed in the past.

Since your's is a new load, this list would be nulled out. Maybe you just need to send a few more e-mails to people in your list.

You can actually pull your autofill list over, however since you most likely didn't back up needed files before the restore, you will have to start all over again.

Users complained about not having their autofills after rebuilds, so after some hunting found out we can actually restore those.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I have a complete image of the drive before the restore. Could you point me to instructions on which file stores that info or how to restore?

Copy the names in AutoComplete to another computer
Important You must exit Outlook before starting the following procedure. The names will be included in AutoComplete when you restart Outlook.
1. On the computer with the saved AutoComplete names, go to drive:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
2. Note Depending on your file settings, this folder might be hidden. To view the files in this folder, do one of the following:
a. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
b. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
c. Click the View tab, and then, under Advanced settings, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
d. Double-click My Computer on your desktop.
e. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
f. Click the View tab, and then click Show hidden files and folders.
3. Right-click profile name.nk2, and then click Copy.
4. Tip You can copy the file to removable media, such as a floppy disk or a CD, and then copy the file to the correct location on the other computer. Or you can attach the file to an e-mail message and send the message to yourself. On the new computer, open the attachment in Outlook, and then save it to the correct location.
5. On the computer where you want to populate the AutoComplete feature, copy the file to drive:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
6. If the Outlook user profile name is different on the computer where you are moving the .nk2 file, you must rename the file with the same Outlook user profile name after you copy it to the correct folder. For example, if you move xxxx.nk2 from the original computer with an Outlook user profile name of xxxx, and you copy the xxxx.nk2 file to the new computer, you must rename it with the Outlook profile name being used on the new computer.
7. When prompted about replacing the existing file, click Yes.
8. Open Outlook to view changes.
