Outlook Web Acccess loading.......

Howdy,

Some how I dont know why when I launch my OWA w/IE6,all I see in
the message pane saying "Loading......." It doesn't do with I use like Netscape or Firefox.

We have Exchange 2003 w/sp2, it was working untill yesterday. Anyone can give me ahand this?

Usually boils down to zone security or language settings in IE.

The firewall is probably blocking/not passing WebDAV. There's a document on http://support.microsoft.com about his.

As far as I know, non-IE browsers don't use WebDAV which is why they work. Either fix your firewall, or better yet, use OWA over SSL. OWA over SSL works as long as the firewall passes SSL connections.

See, even when Im inside my LAN, Im stil getting the "Loading...." pane.
Its gotta do with the IIS. Can I remove IIS and reinstall back again?

It's not an IIS issue, it's an IE issue.

Keep things easy on yourself, follow the troubleshooting guide I posted.

Is EVERY computer having this problem when accessing that OWA server? It's sounds like no.

This sounds like some of the other techs I work with, one workstation has trouble opening Outlook so they go messing with registry settings on the Exchange server. Then when Exchange is no longer working, then they come get me (since I'm the server admin, although the higher-ups won't let me lock down permissions to prevent techs like you from mucking stuff up).

Man, I searched over google newsgroup, there's like 100000 post about OWA "Loading..." none of them go it fix.

The article that I posted includes a lot of information on troubleshooting from the Exchange server.

If everyone is having the problems I would test somewhere that is not going to be accessing OWA through a firewall or proxy server (i.e. from the Exchange box itself) if it still doesnt work troubleshoot as an Exchange issue.

I'm one of those folks that learns by doing. However, that being said, there's still some things that are best left alone if you don't understand them well, and an Exchange server(being used in production) is one of them!

If you want to "play" with any production server or service you should be doing it in the lab.

Was the server upgraded to 2003 from 2000?
What zone is the site showing up in on the clients? Is active scripting allowed for that zone?
Does the problem occur if you try and access OWA from on the Exchange server?
Is the Exchange server part of a front end/back end infrastructure?

You need to answer the questions that are posted of you and give troubleshooting information. We cant offer much help if all you say is "Okay I did it and it didnt work"

If you have a local AntiVirus software running any type of REAL-time scanning on your Exchange server, try shutting that feature off and testing OWA.

Can I remove IIS and reinstall back again? I know, I probably need to reinstall E2k3 over again, if I touch teh IIS. Thats not a big deal, Im give a shot.

IIS is an application that can be easily removed and re-installed via the "Manage My Server" Wizards.

* Okay, on my IIS I see there's a SSL Port 443 added. I dont remember if I ever put in. I would like to remove it, but the the Add,Remove tabs are grey out. How do I remove it?

* Yes sir! I upgrade from a Exchange 2000 to 2003(w/sp2), but my OS its still a Win2k Sever w/sp4.

* My E2k3 is a FE server. Actually its a DC/Mail server.

In order to uninstall IIS you will need to uninstall Exchange; Exchange requires IIS to be present. If you're prepared to go through this than I would seriously consider just rebuilding the box with 2K3 Server. It would definetly make this much easier.

I'm surprised you of all people would make this statement. Exchange would have to be removed before IIS could be removed...

Is URLScan running on the server? Keep in mind that URLScan would have been installed with other apps (i.e. SUS) and it will definetly break OWA.

I agree that it's less than ideal; granted there are a lot of SBS servers running this way out there...

Not exactly sure what you're looking to accomplish here; if you're just looking to have it stop responding to the SSL requests on 443 remove the port from the general tab. You could also go to the security tab if you wish to remove the cert from the site.
