is it possible to back up EVERYTHING in outlook XP at once? i know you can export specific folders at a time but thats too time-consuming... is there a 'backup everything' option somewhere?
If you go to File > Export and choose to export to a PST, you can check off your "Inbox" folder and it will get every folder within Inbox. You can then do this for Sent and then do the Trash and the Contacts folder and that should get everything. If you have any other folders not in these four, export them as well.
It's not an all-in-one solution but it beats doing each folder in the inbox separately in Outlook 2000, that's for sure.
I copy the Outlook.pst file back and forth between my primary desktop system and my primary notebook every day. It carries all information, but not settings (settings selected in the Tools | Options menu), between the two machines -- all e-mail messages, contacts, calendar, notes, journal entries, etc. I've been doing this for a couple of years with never a problem.
