I wouldn't know..... I'd just search google or something.... I've got a Maxtor HDD that was one of the first 16mb cache versions and it was supposed to be horrible, and I've never had a problem... (knock on wood) so who knows.

7200.10 has perpendicular recording tech. faster performance. but i heard it gets hotter than previous lines.

That's gotta be a 7200.10 drive just mislabeled on Fry's website I guess. People in one of the other threads were recieving 7200.10 drives even though they were advertised as 7200.9.

The info on the box will indicate it's a 7200.9, but inside might be a 7200.10. Many have gotten them that way. One indication may be that the blue stripe on the box is much darker on the .10 than on the .9 drives.

My Seagate 400GB 7200.10 runs at 37C running FAH at full load. It's a little warmer than my other Seagate , but not terribly so.

when outpost had this for 109.99 a little while ago people were reporting receiving the 7200.10 drives in the 7200.9 boxes, hopefully this is the case still... seems like a pretty hot deal... what do you guys think? i'm considering ordering a few drives. what do you guys think?

Sort of reminds of me the last wootoff. I created an account just to buy the BOC and maybe some other cheap/useful things, but I kept on getting server errors.

I just save the confirm on the web page just to be sure I have the order number. I've done lots of the Outpost deals and the email has been slow but I've always gotten them. Just save the order number as you can always contact them with it should you need to.

This is the third drive deal I've done with them and they have all been good. But the deals come and go very quickly. When they go, sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't. In the meantime the prices go back up or the drive just diappears forever.
