Just call them if you want to make sure, they picked up quick for a weekend. In for 2 over the phone, tempted for 4 but I don't really need all that space.
At this rate Frys might sell these for SATA 400s for like 80bucks in a few weeks.... maybe some crazy sales around xmas time.
The guy said they are 7200.9s when I told him only 7200.10s have perpendicular recording he said the sales line just knows whats written on the webpage, guess I'll find out when they come in.

This is getting interesting.
When I ordered I didn't notice that the page stated "perpendicular recording".
So I checked the specs for the 7200.9 here's a clip:

ST-3400633AS
Barracuda 7200.9

FORMATTED CAPACITY (GB) __________________400
ACTUATOR TYPE ____________________________VOICE COIL
MEDIA TYPE _______________________________THIN FILM
HEAD TYPE ________________________________GMR
RECORDING METHOD _________________________EPRML 16/17 ZBR
INTERNAL TRANSFER RATE (Mbits/sec) _______up to 815.2
SUSTAINED TRANSFER RATE (Mbytes/sec)______up to 65.0
EXTERNAL TRANSFER RATE (Mbytes/sec) ______up to 300
PIO/DMA/UDMA MODE (max) __________________4/2/5
SPINDLE SPEED (RPM) ______________________7200
AVERAGE LATENCY (mSEC) ___________________4.16
BUFFER ___________________________________16MB

Kinda hard to say that a 7200.9 is a perp drive huh?
Personally it doesn't matter to me. $99 is a great deal anyway.
Perp would just be a bonus.

This drive sells for $200+ at most online stores.

The UPC for the drive that Frys is going to send is: 763649002407

Outpost is slow with confirmations... It is still in stock according to the rep I just got off the phone with.

How deal, but would be even more hot if it was the .10 version

There are some reports that the .10 runs hot, also the .10 is the first drive with perpendicular recording and some people suspect it may have a bug or two to work be worked out in the .11 series.
If the .10s run hot and you're buying a few of these for a raid5 setup or whatever... you might prefer the .9s that run cooler when put on top of eachother.
Either way its .25/GB and its Seagate with a 5year warranty

I don't think it would be the 7200.10, the model number matches up with 7200.9

Of which the 320GB 7200.10 can be had for < $100 so depending on how much you need the space...

I just need the raw space, my raptor has my OS on it so i could care less about speed...

99 bucks for a 400gb is only 25 cent per gig with free shipping... I doubt you will find a better deal until black friday, maybe....

I live in northern NH...Black Friday is almost meaningless.

Edit: Free ground..or overnight for $12! :Q

For some reason, my login email is correct...but the email I have for confirmation is incorrect (@ahoo.com instead of yahoo..wth?) I can't figure out how to correct it..

Unfortunately the $26 Seagate rebate offer was only valid on purchases made until 9/30/06.
