I still would get the tuner, but that's just so I wouldn't have to pay for local channels on the satellite. You should be able to pick them up with an antenna if you're in an urban area. The question is, how much money would you save in the first year by not having to pay for local channels (NBC/CBS/FOX/PBS) and is it worth paying for the tuner up front?Originally posted by: jmebonner
I can't get Over the Air HD, and will move to a Dish system when I get a tv that's Hd capable. This means I don't need a tuner, right?
EDIT: Yeah, I read the description. I don't need a tuner. I'll be checking out some reviews and will consider this TV. Thanks OP!

I have a NEW (in the box still) Samsung SIR-T151 HDTV Tuner I bought over a year ago but have NEVER even opened it. WOuld this work with this monitor, or for that fact, even a regular 19" LCD screen?

It just pays to think out the options.

anyone know of an hd tv tuner that could be used other than the Samsung Model that is sold out everywhere? Would a DirectTV HD receiver work as an HDTV Tuner?
