Post graduate education is usually not so much an indicator of intelligence as it is of privilege. So don't let it go to your head. That's a prick thing to do, as I've known many very intelligent and even successful people who were unable to pursue further education and were forced to enter the job market earlier in life than they would have otherwise wanted to solely because of financial constraints.

The funny thing is, now I'm a technical lead in charge of several people with masters degrees, but they aren't elitist pricks like yourself. Privilege? I grew up in the lower class poor. My mother worked 3 jobs to keep my sister and myself fed and in clothes. I went to the worst high school in the city and then I went to my state school in the same city and met the right people and had the right motivation. My experience, grades, GREs, contacts, and publications (yes from undergrad, and yes in science publications) got me into berkeley. From there i went to UT for a postdoc, and then Penn for my second postdoc. All of this is science education. Im currently at Harvard with an affiliate at MIT. My scientific education is rather well respected thank you very much.

If you believe in global warming as a man-made phenomenon then its not too far out of reach to connect to the same belief that one nation holds dominion over the world. As another poster has said, fascism is the danger here. The nutjobs pushing this agenda are the same ones that would love to see drastic population reductions in the name of human progress. And since they are good christian souls, obviously they belong in that new world order. And since the underdeveloped world is largely pagan, those people do not belong in the new world order. Some real trouble could be brewing in the circles of the elite. What will be their trigger event to justify cleaning up the world?

Remember what happened to a scientist who said the earth isn't the center of the heavens. Science is powerless to convince those whose ego is tied to an unscientific belief. There are millions of just the same kind of fools alive today and in denial of what affronts their tiny egos. I make my stand with those who believe the earth is 6000 years old and can never get any warmer as the result of man. I am my religion and my politic. What you are asking me is to let go of everything I have substituted for the hole in my soul caused by self hate. I'd rather kill you. So don't so damn sure your logic will have much effect. Maybe when my kids get some other shield to hide behind they will see it your way, but unless you can cure my core disease, I'd advise you to wait, if, of course, there will be a next generation. There doubtless will come a time past which there's no time to change.

Who gives a shit? I could care less about Al Gore, this is about man-made global warming. And I think the only reason people bring him up with such regularity is that calling Al Gore an idiot is easier than actually making a scientific argument against man-made global warming.
