well i know that the DELL?s dont give anything in the way of BIOS support that will allow you to Overclock .. clock gen will allow you to OC your CPU by upping the FSB .. but without knowing what mobo you have it will be a bit hard as you need to know which version to download, and i dont think dell supplies that info on the net .. if you download Everest home edition and check the make and model of your motherboard with that, and then check clock gen to see if it supports your motherboard .. if you then download the correct version you will be able to use this to Overclock your CPU through windows, remember to stress test as well otherwise you will not be sure on whether your Overclock is stable

Ok I downloaded everest and went to the mother board page of it. It says the motherboard id is: <DMI>..... and the motherboard name is: Dell Dimension 4700..........Is that the kind of MOBO I have? I thought Dell didn't make it's own MOBOs. Anyway is there any hope for me to overclock now?

Are you looking in the right place for the motherboard name, for instance this is a pic of mine

Because im positive that most Dells can be OCed via Clock Gen, i remember on an old work PC in a previous job, i used clock gen, on a 3Ghz P4 for cracks and giggles and it worked fine.

i know the BIOS in Dell's are just plain crap .. the only thing i could think of was possibly using clock gen (a windows app instead) ..it worked on my old work comp which had a crap BIOS with regards to OCing, but that was in actual fact a Medion PC ..

I thought i had heard on the net that some dells can be OCed .. maybe a hacked BIOS or summin .. but at the end of the day that is what you get with pre-built PC's especially Dell's

To the OP still try and find out what mobo you have got, so not to totally rule out clock gen

EDIT: having done a little research on the net, it looks very doubtful, i haven't seen anything that states you can (except for some coding for a registry hack or something ).. just get a new mobo if that is ultimately the case, and possibly a new PSU like previously stated above by "the cobbler"..

The motherboard physically doesnt have the clock generators to produce the FSB changes.

In other words, you cant overclock it.
