Over-ear passive noise cancelling headphones

I have never really shopped for headphones. I typically prefer not to use them at all.

But I have issue with neighbors in my apartment that has come to the point that to lower my stress level I need to be able to just block them out when I sit down to relax with a game or movie.

I don't need the best noise cancellation or sound quality. Just enough to block out bassy beats bleeding through my wall as I sit at my machine.

I do not want wireless or active noise cancellation because I don't want to mess with batteries.

Can you fine gentlemen(and ladies) recommend something in the sub $100 price range?

i use hyperx cloud 2.
they work pretty good imho

but the thing about base is you can feel it as well as hear it.
i do still notice my subwoofer in the other room

Oh it's not nearly loud enough to feel or anything. It's just loud enough to bleed through when using plain old ear buds and annoy me greatly.

You could always just buy some ear muffs/protectors from a hardware store to use with your earbuds. Looks ghetto if you're walking around outside like that...but if you're just sitting at home...

the other problem with earbuds is they produce an annoying inner ear drone when you're talking on a voip chat. It sounds like I'm holding my nose and have palms pressed up on my ears when I talk.

That's true with any passive noise canceling as well. Earmuffs are just like pressing your hands to your ears...

I don't know exactly how the hardware store noise protection muffs are designed but decent over-ear headphones like the ones linked above do not press onto the ear and cover the orifice like putting your palms to your ears would.

I see you can get these industrial ear muffs with built in speakers, and they're quite cheap. I'll have to look into these more.
