Every BTC optical drive I've ever used, sucked.
This goes back 8 years forward.

Then again, I've never used a BTC DVD writer.
Or will I.
Get te Lite on if you can, otherwise, pass.

I didnt realized that one of the 2 i got tonight has a round label that reads " Black Bezel "

I wish i would of checked that at the store.. chances are there was more black one's when i was there, o well.

If you guys want Black Bezel.. look in the upper left corner for the actual Label that will indicate that !

I've been reading some reviews about the LDW 811s and they've said that they've had problems burning from Nero 6.0. This concerns me because I love using Nero to do any burning.

Has anyone tried burning with Nero yet?!

funny thing is, lite on used to be the worst drive on the market, but no one except the people that worked in the shops seems to remember. I got a btc and burned off 4 in a row, they seem to play better in my player, no stutters, no boxes.

Was the second digit in the SN a "8"? Just to confirm that "48" translates to 851.

Just picked one up, got the PD. Serial is 43xxx, found a Lite-On 851S inside. Also got PowerDVD XP and Sonic My DVD 4.0. No blanks, damn!

Can someone who has received the HP disks as subs for the hypermedia disks please check what kind of media they are. Just use DVD info. I'm hearing they are CMC disks which are the same thing as teh KHypermedia disks.

I installed the 851. It will NOT burn the Ricohjpn 4X DVD's at 8X. I've read that the 811 will burn these at 8X. Also, I thought there was a bitsetting option on the 851, but this option doesn't show up in Nero. If you have a choice, I'd go for the 811.

Just got back from the OM in Gainesville, Fla. After some hassle, got it to work there, 84.76 OTD, what a deal.

Serial # is 48xx, but I haven't opened it yet, someone there mentioned that my PS2 probably wouldn't play + or - media without being modded. Any truth to this?

Picked one up yesterday and it was GENERIC. Code on the box was BDVD......! Forgot the rest, the drive is at home.
