Overclock question?

Hi,

Athlon 1333 @ 1417Mhz (10.5x135) is it considered overclocking at all? to scared might burn my processor.
Is my settings correct? so far pc's been running great.........need your info please.

By definition, any speed above the default stock speed is called overclocking.

Your settings, as long as everything is stable, look find to me. You might even want to see if you can go even further.

As long as you have a good fan and everything is running cool and problem free keep your overclock!

The worst that will happen while o/cingis your computer won't POSt with your new settings, or it won't run stable (ie crash). Either one is easily fixable as most motherboards restore the last good settings if it can't pOST with the ones you specify. Stability is easy to fix too... just pull that clock speed back down.

Actually the worst is to fry your CPU. However, that usually only happens to people that try extreme overclocking without stepping up a bit at a time. If you step up and one fails, blue screen, etc., no big deal, you just step down again.

Second worst (to me) is corrupting the hard drive. Usually happens with FSB setting (as it messes with the HD directly), but can happen with all overclocks if the kernel starts to do weird things. Best thing to do is to re-install Windows as a upgrade, your settings (if they were not corrupted too) will be saved. This has happened to me somewhat often when I first see how far my CPU will go, and keep bluescreening out again and again looking for the magic combo.
