Brand new:
Abit KT7-133-RAID
800MHz Thunderbird
I have read every review about overclocking this chip on this motherboard and I can't get it to boot even at 8.5 x100. I connected my L1 bridges with graphite 3 times now and it still hasn't worked. Another problem I cannot understand with this motherboard is the voltage settings. At the default setting of the CPU on the motherboard, the voltage monitor reads 1.81V. Very High, I know. So I manually set the voltage to 1.7V just trying to run at 8.0 x100 and it reads 1.80V on the hardware monitor. When I set it to 1.6V, the hardware monitor actually reads 1.7V. Any idea which I can trust more? The setting for the voltage on the Abit or the hardware monitor on the Abit?? Any ideas on why I cannot OC this chip?
I must add that I am using an Alpha heatsink and a 38cfm fan (very loud), so it is not a heat issue. AND I have the good Mushkin CAS 2 133 memory sticks (2@128MB).
