Overclocked 2.4C and asynchronous PCI Bus?

I've been looking at buying a 2.4c and overclocking it by upping the FSB, but was wondering what issues there would be concerning the PCI bus running in asynchrous mode by not running at 33Mhz. Is this no longer an issue, or am I running the risk of data corruption?

You should run with the agp/pci lock enabled to 33/66 to protect your components....

2 benefits if this...

1) some components can not take much above spec 33mhz withou damage or data corruption and this may effect longevity.

2) Because components can be finicky about this it may prematurely limit your ocing capability of your system...

Do all motherboards support the ability to do AGP/PCI lock, or is it only certain ones?

MOst all Mobo maufacturers with boards newer then the i845d chipset have all had this feature....Now most sis chipsets still do not have this feature. can't comment on Via boards....

If you get a C chip you will likely need a proven Pe chipset (may be hard) that can run 200fsb or have to get a newer canterwood/springdale chipset...Out of those I haven't heard of a board yet not have it. If you stick with the big 2...Abit and Asus that should not be a problem...
