Overclockers Store Monster 2 Cooler: Hasty review

I remember reading some questions about whether the OCZ HSF was any good and i got one from the sketchy sons of bitches a few days ago along with a KT7 non-raid and a duron 600@1000 kit that i will be selling shortly (to make a long story short, they took so long to ship that by the time i got the stuff I'd already bought a Pro2-A and a 750tbird with FOP38). I'm keeping their Monster 2 Cooler however because the son of a gun is actually doing a decent job, so i actually recommend it.

Basically, with all this stuff cluttering my case and playing game after game and just one case fan and PS exhaust, the Monster 2 NEVER goes past 42C. It is relatively quiet, but it's hard for me to judge b/c I was using FOP38 prior and that thing is like chinese water torture; the drone-like whine of THAT will kill you over time i'm sure. The M2 is a purring kitten compared to it. So...just thought i'd share that.

If you're willing to put up with the sloppy service at OCZ store (for just a fan you'll probably do fine) it's well worth the $25....

I was one of the people that posted questions about OCZ's coolers. I understand they may not have good service. I have never had a problem with them. But if you say the Monster 2(you do mean the original monster 2, not one of the newer modified ones? is doing a good job, then it makes me wonder what kind of a job some of there better coolers will do?

Dunno if it's modified or not. Just got it last week so whatever their newest design is I suppose....

I didn't actually mean modified i should have been more specific. They have several heatsinks based on the monster 2. I just went to there site again. I guess the monster 2 is the only one actually called that. They have the monster 2 dual delta, plus like 3 or 4 other heatsinks that also use the monster 2 heatsink, just with different fans.
