I just want to add that I paid something crazy like 400 bucks for the top end gigabyte board back in the p67 days and my 2600k would run fine at 5ghz in my Asus board and for the life of me I could not get past 4.3ghz stable with the gigabyte board.

I just bought a 3770k and its running Intel burn test avx 8 threads stable at 4.6ghz with 1.19-1.20volts and will do 4.8 at 1.30 but hits 100c in less then 2 min with the lid on and air cooling.

I suggest an Asus board for your next build!

I found IBT not to be of much use, personally. It gets a CPU hot, but that's it. I could cycle it for tens of passes without problems, and yet Prime95 gave me an error in much less than one hour.

Mission accomplished.
I also seem to have weird CPU. That vcore is under full load, passing 24 hours of Prime95 (I stopped the test there).

I also managed to get memory from 1866MHz to 2133 by just upping VDIMM to 1.550V.

The difference in memory frequency isn't something you have any chance at all of realizing in any real work load. Not worth the increased risk of data coruption and added load on the IMC with the voltage bump IMO.

Are you using CoreTemp? Just curious what temps you're seeing at load with that voltage (and what cooler are you using).

Looks like it should be pretty good though. Nice chip!

Possibly, but I did it because I could.
It's also stable enough for me: 22 hours of intensive Prime95 test and several hours of Memtest86+.
Also, there's hardly anything you could call voltage bump.

I switched to HWiNFO for monitoring purposes. Hottest core is at 72°C on a warm day, lowest at something like 65 or slightly above.
I use CM Hyper 212+ EVO with the new Noctua fan.

I tried messing around with overclocking further and could pass some (error within 30 minutes) tests in Prime95 running 4.7GHz at roughly 1.24V. I was still getting WHEA errors though. Ironically, IntelBurnTest passed everything without problems.

Last offset I tried was +0,150V (or a bit less). With Hyper 212EVO and the new Noctua fan (awesome thing btw) spinning at ~1200rpm, I was peaking 85°C on hottest core. Need moar cooling, obviously. I got bored after about one hour though.
