overclocking a 560ti

Hello,

I just recently bought a evga 560ti fbp and since I've never overclocked a gpu I thought I'd ask my questions here.

1.) I know that overclocking generally voids your warranty but is there really any way they can tell it was overclocked if you send it back for rma/whatever provided there isn't harm to the gpu from said overclock?

2.)what is/are the best programs to test the stability of a card, whether checking for a solid overclock or just artifacts?

3.) I want to overclock my 560ti I just don't know where I should start in terms of reasonable clock speeds. My current card is 850/1701/2052 and I want to increase those some. I don't want the absolute max overclock i can get but a reasonable one would be fine. I just want to know what are reasonable ballpark estimates for a 560ti, I'm also not looking to increase the voltage of the card.

if overclocking voids your warranty, why do they include utilities for you to overclock? :O

Suspect that you'll be able to achieve 900/1800/2100 rather easily. Most Ti's top out at around 1GHz core clock and you'll need a custom cooling solution to reach it (I dont think the reference deisgn will get it done).

OC'ing vid card is not going to give you significant returns. You might be able to push out an extra 5 fps tops, on average. A far better performance boost is achieved via a cpu OC or upgrade. Pushing my 2500k up produces noticable differences every 200-300mhz.

Overclocking EVGA cards does not void the warranty. EVGA has one of the best warranties in the business...go to their site and read it, but OCing is covered. They also will even allow you to remove the stock heatsink for aftermarket heatsink or waterblock and not void the warranty, as long as you replace the stock one when you send it in.

Ya, my 2500k has been at 4.5 for a year now. I actually oc'd my card to 950/1900/2200 @ 1.06v(stock was 1.012) I'm not sure if that's a safe voltage but when I googled around people said no more than 1.1v. My temps at bf3 on pretty much ultra(no msaa) were at about 65-70 degrees with the fan at 40%. I don't really know how i feel about the overclock on the gpu because i literally could not tell the difference in fps between stock and oc.

also, is the evga oc scanner any good? I was looking for artifacts in bf3 at what i listed above and i couldn't really see any but i think that program would help me more.
