overclocking a celeron 400

how far can I go ?
If I change the FSB to 100 Mhz then my processor would run at 606 MHz.
Is this safe ?
This processor is socket 370 BTW.

good luck in getting it up there. Celeron 400's are not known to overclock well. My 400 will do 450 on my asus board, but will not post at 450 on my Tyan board.

To keep your hopes up, I had a Celeron 400 that reached 618mhz. It took a bit of tweakin to reach there. I had to lap the core, good cooling and a good slotket to get there.

It was a retail Celeron 400 under the model number SL37X.

I recently sold that processor It was a great performer for its price.

i can only got 450 on mine. can reach 500 but locks up when i surf the net with my modem.

The 400 I had also reached 618, but that is very rare. Most with good cooling seem ok at 550 with the right board. Don't spend much time on it, 533c's and 566's are cheap...
