I would like to overclock my XP1600. I have already set all my RAM settings to the fastest and everything has been fine. What shoudl I set my clock speed/ratio/voltage to overclock. I wnat to start small and work my way up so nothing too drastic.
This is on an epox 8kha+, xp1600, crucial ddr 2100 ram, leadtek 64 MB ti200.

thanks.

i am assuming you have "burned-in" the processor...(let it run for a while before overclocking it) and you have sufficient cooling to handle the overclock. also, the XP comes locked and so unless you unlock it, your best bet for overclocking is to use FSB. it should be running at 133. i think your board allows you to increase in 1 Mhz increments, so just go into your bios and raise it to the desired speed. then do some benchmarks to make sure it is stable, and you are done. good luck!

<< you should be able to reach 155MHZ FSB as I did >>

What multiplier did you use?

When I oc'd mine ( 8KHA+), after making sure it ran stable at 133, I started with 5Mhz increments till it bsod'd me, then backed off to the last stable setting and slowly raised it 1Mhz at a time till it bsod again, then backed off to the last stable fsb and that's where I've been ever since. Do make sure that you're running the latest bios from Epox (though I see they've removed the latest one from Jan.). The 11/02 bios has an issue that the last one was supposed to fix, when you go over 150fsb--when you do a reboot it will not restart, you'll need to hit the reset again to start it. I got so used to doing that (hitting the reset button on warm reboot) that I did it without thinking with the latest bios which fixed it. If you go to this thread by deanodarlo, you can download the bios that Epox pulled (not sure why) that fixes the reboot problem. I've been running it for more than a week without any problems what-so-ever.

So you didn't change the multiplier, just the fsb?
Yes I am using the latest BIOS. I'll give your idea a shot first chance I get.
