Overclocking basic question

I have the A8V-E Delux. Its basically the pci-e version of the A8V Delux.

Memory Timings im running:

CAS# Latency 2.0
RAS# to CAS# 3
RAS# Precharge 2
TRas# 5

I have seen a lot of people say to make sure 2T is disabled and run the memory at 1T. In my bios I cannot find anywhere to disable the 2T. What am I missing here?

Also I cannot raise the cpu multiplier paste 10, is this normal for asus boards? I have a 3200+ A64 chip, what is the highest voltage I should use that is safe?

Also I forgot one more thing. Under the dram setup there is a section that says Max Memclock - Places an artificial limit. You can set it from DDR200 through DDR400 or auto. There is no way to turn this limit off. Does this mean it will lock it from going over 400?

I don't have that mobo so i can't answer your question about where the 1T/2T comand rate option is on that board, but you need to know that on all A64 CPU's except the FX versions the Multiplier is locked from going higher then the stock setting. You can only lower it.

Put memory on maual not auto, then a menu will appear that will give you the choice to disable 2T.

There does not seem to be a setting for the 1T/2T command rate.

Max memory clock "Doesn't limit your memory clock" Asus has terribly mislabled this setting on their new boards, This setting is actually your memory dividers

AUTO= automatic dividers that always keep ram at less than 200mhz once you hit 217mhz
DDR400= 1:1 ie.. HTT=250, RAM=250
DDR333= 6:5 HTT=300, RAM=250
DDR266= 3:2 HTT=300, RAM=200


I,m currently running the DDR333 setting with HTT=289mhz this runs my Ram at 236mhz (DDR472)

If the bios is the same on your A8V-E as my A8N-SLI then the 1T/2T setting is located under "CPU configuration/DDR settings"

Thanks for the info about the memory dividers GuitarDaddy. Asus did a bad job when they mislabled that.

I still am having trouble finding the 1T/2T and where I can disable the 2T setting. Could they have worded this different as well?
