probably not. It will definitely void the warantee. Because its a P!!!, the multiplier is locked, and I seriously doubt Dell allowes you to adjust the FSB in BIOS (although they might).

Yeap, dell has no adjustment for anything other than 100 FSB or 133FSB.. good luck..

The Dimension L series from Dell uses an integrated i810 chipset motherboard. Your chances of overclocking it are nonexistent.

Even so, all dell pc are non overclockable...

I have a precision 410 (dual p3) / 420 (dual p3 rambus) no bios option for anything except standard stuff..

if i'm not mistaken, Dell has some sort of contract or deal with Intel that says Intel will provide the mobos for all of Dell's systems. so not only do Dell systems use mobos with intel chipsets, but the actual mobos themselves are usually made by intel also. although intel makes some of the most stable and reliable boards out there, they do not have any OCing capabilities. usually mobos made by intel have a jumper on the board that allows the system to start in "maitenance mode" when rebooted. and from what i hear, this is the only way to adjust the FSB on an intel mobo, and therefore the only way to do so on a Dell PC.

OCing will void the warrantee with Dell as well as any warrantee you might have with Intel also. in fact if you change just about anything in your Dell system, such as a video card, it will void your warrantee. i had a Dell once for about 2 years, and to receive tech support from them, i couldnt tell them about any parts i might have changed over the two years...

like erub said, the multipliers on any intel CPU are locked, so the only way to OC an intel CPU is through the FSB...and any intel-made mobo severely limits your ability to even do that. not to mention the 800E is nt the greatest OCer, and the 800EB is even worse.

Oh snaped.. hard deicison, my friend had a mx, crash often, it was Gainward MX on CUSL2.. also 3dfx is out of business so it's even hard deicison... I would get v5 since it is fast, but you wont have future driver so by the time you upgrade your os, you'll probably have a new machine..

yah it seems the voodoo 5 pci is the best choice even if 3dfx is dead ..... but i would really like video out which the gforce2 mx cards offer if i can find a pci version ( its soooo hard to find a pci version mx card) i also can go for the radaon 32 meg pci, but i have not been able to find anybody selling one even thouge on the ati site thay do have a pci version.... its a very tough choice i wish i had agp or 3dfx was still alive... but i might as well go with the voodoo 5 heard its very stable and has good directx8 drivers so it should be good for a year... quick question, since i play alot of easports games and usaully you can pick the video card brand in the 3d setup do you think the new sports games that are still to come will have the voodoo 5 as a listed video card or will i just have to run it in directx ....
