Just received a X3210 - 2.13ghz Quad Core. G0 Stepping. I can overclock it to 3.2ghz with minimal voltage bump, 1.33-1.35V @ 38C idle 50-52C load. Which is fairly decent still.
However, I can't seem to get past 3.2ghz unless I crank the voltage to like 1.5V.
I tried 3.45ghz @ 1.5V and booted into windows but seemed unstable, explorer errors, etc. If I don't use 1.5V it's blue screen on windows bootup.
I think I've ruled out FSB and memory issues. I've tried 460fsb x 7 = 3.22ghz @ 1.35V and worked 100% stable, prime 95, games, etc. This setting stressed my fsb and memory harder than 400x8 = 3.2ghz.
Any tips appreciated, I have a feeling I just have a bum core, but open to suggestions/advice.
This is on a Abit IP35 Pro, Sycthe Ninja Heatsink and using 4GB of OCZ Plat. Revision 2 800mhz 4-4-4-15
