Does anyone here have the A8V-E Deluxe? Im trying to figure out how I can disable 2T, I was told if I dont run the memory at 1T its a huge performance hit. I have looked all over the bios and in the dram section and cant find anywhere to disable it.

weeeell, i have the a8v deluxe.. it is there somewhere, in the memory bit, where all the timings are - there is an option "2T Command" - and the options are "Disabled; Enabled; Auto". if that does not work, you could use A64Tweaker - infact no, what am i saying! The -e version is usually the highest version of asus board i think, so of course the option is there.. u just arent looking properly!!

Uber! YGPM.

Anyway, I have a quick question which I would think a lot of people do to.
What is the DOWN side of using memory divider in an Athlon 64 rig? Can you put it as simple as you can?
Thanks alot for your help in guiding us toward overclocking.

The downside of dividers is that your memory isn't faster with respect to mhz, but mhz aren't everything. I've only had my A64 since late February. Timings on A64 do mean a lot. Let me put it this way: 312mhz of 2.5-3-3-10 get me 7.1k bandwidth in Sandra, where as 266mhz 2-2-2-5 gets 7.6k. The upside of dividers, and lots of them, is that you can keep your memory at a high(er) speed in mhz and still keep those low timings. I find that at 300HT, a 7/10 divider gets me my best performance with 230mhz 2-2-2-5 2.6v. Read the front page of Anandtech's news. There's an article on new OCZ VX memory.

BTW, what memory type is that? Windbond DH-5? BH-5 can't do that well and TCCD doesn't like volts that high.

Why do people call me by an adjective in my screen name? My name is Jarad...

I'll check out the Everest thing later. Thanks.

Thanks Jarad! I forgot to ask one more question. How do you check for your memory manufacturer?
I have a Patriot PC3200 with a 2-3-2-5 timing. It's not XBL, but I'm thinking of switching over to the XBL to get your OC. Is it worth the investment?

Naw, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have money to turn. R500 and NV50 are going to be announed in about 2 months, so it'd be a better idea to save up on that vc front and sell your current card. I will be. Sell my 6800gt, throw 100-200 in and have a brand new card.

It's my first time to installed copper heat spreader (http://www.svc.com/pct-ddrmx-cop.html) to 2 x 512Mb DDR400 Corsair Value Select. Is it necessary to remove the Corsair paper label on the RAM modules before attaching the heat spreaders and thermal pads (glued to the heat spreaders)

Corsair site states that; The following parts are not covered by this warranty: * Modules that are missing the label containing Corsair?s part number
