For those of you that don't believe that overclocking can kill components.....

THIS VIDEO CARD worked perfectly fine.... UNTIL IT BURST INTO FLAMES! :Q :Q :Q

Crappy heatsink, crappy glue job, no fan.

ATI's fault, but as far as I'm concerned, until these companies make these things properly, basically any current 3D vid card has to be redone before putting it in an AnandTecher-type system.

Crimson: No no no..... The heatsink fell off AFTER the video card shot flames. Thus the burn mark on the back of the heat sink. Actually, the sink never fell off until AFTER the card was pulled.

ltk007: It's not me. The FuseTalk DB is going wacky on me. It works the first time I post it, and then some characters drop out. Very weird. Must be all of these changes Zuni and the gang are making.

I think 'ran' is being a tad generous, especially when you consider that the rage128 is more liable to be likened to a geriatric grandmother, rather than an Olympic sprinter.
