LDT Voltage? Voltage for HyperTransport bus. Similar to VFSB on Intel platform, I guess.

I'm one of them but my Opty is not nekkid. Matter of fact mine is using the stock HS and fan with the factory applied thermal paste. It does need 1.47v and the CPU temp does get up to 52-53C, but I'm ok with that. Running it 100% 24/7 (Seti) Stability screen shot can be seen at: http://www.xmission.com/~nova/hb/dtdfi.jpg

Tried that, still didn't work. It helped though as so far I seem to have it stable at 295*10 v1.45, but 300x10 still fails within a few seconds. I'm wondering if hitting 3ghz is even a realistic possibility now.

As for my temps @ 1.475, they're pretty high, though I can't give you a consistent reading since orthos fails very quickly under load, but I did notice them spiking up to 55-59C.

So I seem to have it stable at 2.950ghz, v1.45. At this point, is it worth to try and push it to 3ghz? I mean what difference does 50mhz make? Also I'm not sure if I want to up the voltage any more, my temps under load are now 53-55C. Thanks.

I would stay where you are if you think that is the max. Getting those extra 50mhz will be DIFFICULT, if not IMPOSSIBLE on air.

2.9 at stock volts is, uhhh, well, pretty insanely impressive. Mine won't do over 2.7 at stock volts stable. It needs voltage increase (although slight) to be stable at 2.8.

Based on that not exactly small detail, I'm going to call bullshit on your 2.9 stable. That or you transposed voltages from startup and regular VID.

Assuming you transposed the voltages, you won't likely get 3.0Ghz stable without water (actually almost no one does), because you're already pushing 1.5v and only at 2.9.

What cooling are you using?

What are your idle and load temps at 1.475v?

ok, I have'nt read what anyone else has written about this ^^^ BUT, in my reading and experience that is completly and %100 FALSE. If you have to tell yourself that to feel good about your CPU than so be it, but if you have good stepping\MB\RAM it is VERY possible to get 3+ghz on air with low volts.

right now (admitedly on only a 1 core opty) i have 1.42volts doing 3.06ghz
