Overclocking w/ Biostar Tforce6100-754

I have a Biostar TForce6100-754 and in the BIOS I cannot change the CPU multiplier. In the "Over Clock Quick Guide" that came with my motherboard it does mention it and it even shows a picture with the option in it. However, when I look it is not there. It is not greyed out or anything, it just isn't there. It is supposed to be listed as "Hammer Fid Control."

BTW, I have a Sempron 2800+.

Dude... just set it to v12 setting. Ive got a computer with exact same mobo. It works great

Only the Athlon FX is multiplier unlocked both up and down. Athlon 64 and socket 754 Semprons are multiplier unlocked downwards (for Cool and Quiet, need upwards for overclocking).

HOWEVER, only Palermo core Semprons rated 3000+ and up have this feature. Your 2800+ does not.

Use v12 auto oveclock thing in bios. I was skeptical at first, but after I tried it, it works great! Got a sempron 3000 up to 2.25 ghz from 1.8 I think. All auto...

Thanks, I was unaware of the fact that the Sempron is locked downwards.

Dude... just set it to v12 setting. Ive got a computer with exact same mobo. It works great

I tried it and it only overclocked it to 2.0GHz (from 1.6) and was running 1.7v. I am currently running 2.2GHz running 1.55v and it will probably even go farther and I can probably use less voltage.

I'm running the same combo and have a ram question.

This board runs my Semp 2800+ @ 8*315=2520mhz on only 1.475V.

Can't seem to get my pc3700 to run as fast as I would like though. The board ran it @ DDR500 (when at 250bus 1:1), but even with the ram dividers only will run @ DDR315 when on the 315mhz system bus. I should be able to use the "133" Bios setting to get it to DDR418 (133/200*315=209 or DDR418). Not sure why I can't??

set everything in the memory tweak page to manual. When you drop down with the dividers, the board tightens up the timings on you.

That was one of the first things I tried. I set it to 3-4-4-8 and still no go on the 133 divider, 2T command??

I even set my fsb to 300. That would be 133/200*300=DDR400.....still a no go. Like I said, I've seen this pc3700 do DDR500.

Can you think of anything I have set wrong?? Just seems like my dividers don't work!

Really, damn I didn't know that! Now I can test how high my motherboard FSB can get.

Yes Sempron 3000+ and up Support cool & quiet.
