Ok, I'm curious as to how much I could safely and stably overclock my system. Heres what I got:

AMD 1.2Ghz 266 FSB AXIA
ASUS A7A266 (Latest revision w/ multipier switches)
Vantec copper Heatsink/Fan CCK-6035D
(2) SUNON 80mm Fans (one intake, one exhaust)
(1) SUNON 60mm Fan (exhaust)

Let me know what other info you need to know. Thanks guys.

This is not enough listed to really talk about stability and safety...Many items such as ram, pci devices and harddrives and such effect the ability to oc. PLus many items may react differently to prolong oc'ing.

As for the chip...many axia's oc'd well but by no means is a gaurantee for success. No gaurantee your chip can produce and yields much above itas default.

1)case cooling looks good...

2) I am not familiar w/ HSF so I can't speculate...what size fan? what is the spec'd cfm?

3)I don't think the ali boards were the best oc'ers in this class...Iwill's and epox mobos do much better.

4) I would look at northbridge cooling at sametime...

Ok, heres some more info to help you out.

-As for RAM, I plan on putting in 2 sticks of 256MB PC133
-PCI, just a D-Link NIC, and a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz later on
-I'll also be running a Voodoo 5500 AGP

1)

2) Heatsink - 65x64x39
Fan - 60x60x25
Pure Copper fins and base
Aluminum shroud
Fan speed - 7200 to 7400 RPM
38 CFM Fan
Link for HSF

3) I'm aware of that, but read many good reviews and like the idea of a PC133/DDR combo.

4) Suggestion noted.

My guess is that with the 1/4 pci divisor you may achieve anywhere from 144-150 fsb...with the later extremely lucky and may need to get some pc150 if you plan on aggressive ram settings...

I think you can get 9x144 easy...maybe without a voltage increase...

I would try 9.5x150...I don't think you will get much above that in terms of fsb...pci at that point is 37.5mhz and is over spec of 33mhz so pci cards maybe unhappy and harddrive could be possibly damaged over a prolonged period, agp card will be running 75mhz instead of 66mhz..

Duvie, he does not need to increase his FSB and jeopardize his PCI components. with an AXIA stepping Tbird, his mulitplier is unlocked so all he has to do is increase the multiplier. Although, I must admit, anything higher than 9.0 is a big jump.......

I agree with that!!! But most try to push the fsb so they can push their ram, plus higher fsb is often better in many applications.

I agree the fine line of how hard tp push the fsb without sacrificing the health of the pci cards, harddrives, and ram.
