Overclocking with A8N-SLI deluxe 1007 bios?

I updated to the 1007 bios because I have a 3700+ San Diego on the way. But so far its horrible for overclocking on my board. Max HTT of 235mhz vs. 325mhz with 1004. I have tried everything to get higher with no joy. I underclocked the CPU and ram and set the ram to 2T, I tried the entire range of vcore and vdimm, I tried updating to the latest 6.53 nVidia standalone kit, still no joy!

I have seen that many of you seem to have no problem Overclocking with the 1007 so I'm thinking maybe I'm missing something here? If you are successfully overclocking with the 1007 please list your specs and settings so maybe I can figure this out.

I really want to make it work because I love this board, but if my SD arrives and won't work with the 1004 bios and I'm stuck at HTT 235, I will dump it in a heartbeat.

My current settings that work flawlessly on 1004 with a 3200+ are:

289 x 9 = 2601mhz 1.55v
DDR333 = ram @ 236mhz 2-3-2-7 1T 2.85v
HTT multi = 3x

Thanks

Hi GD. See sig...
I tried all BIOSes from 1003 straight thru to 1007 with my setup...same results with all of 'em.
Processor hits the brick wall shortly after 2500 (and I can't give more voltage... ), 1:1 mem is not possible due to good old 1T-issue...
Conclusion: Could not find the o/c being dependent on the BIOS version for my combination of components...

So far the only thing I notice different in my rig from you who are successful, is my 2 x 74gb raptors raid0. Any body having success with 1007 and raptors in raid0 as a boot drive?

Yeah, I've went back to 1004 a couple of times already, just afraid my new SD 3700+ won't work with 1004. I guess I'll find out in a few days. If it doesn't I'll be selling an A8N-SLI/3200+ combo proven at 2.6ghz

Running my Hitachis striped as boot drive...no raptors, though, but never experienced issues related to SATA/RAID0/etc.

The only difference for me was I needed about .05 more Vcore to get stable - but I didn't have any trouble once I upped the voltage a bit.

Sorry to hear you have these problems, GuitarDaddy. Not sure what to suggest because you already know what you are doing. Maybe just clear out the CMOS and start all over again. Also double-check all the Bios settings you can find in case something got flipped when you updated and check everyting with CPU-Z and Everest (or whatever monitoring software you use). No doubt you have tried all this already.

Do you know for a fact that the San Diego will need a newer Bios than 1004? That is the one I am still using so I can't help you with overclocking comparisons per Bios.

HI!
Yesterday I tried for the second time the 1007 Bios, for me it is also Bullshit, It caused me when testing its overclocking capabilities data corruption!! I had to format the HDD and install Xp, the lack of stability of that Bios is incredible, now I am again with Bios 1006 and everything came to normality, reaching the top HTT speed at 325 as you also do!
Asus engineers have a lot of work to do because it seems they are going worse!

Hey MADMAX, I notice we have the same video card, I wonder if it could be a VGA driver issue? I may search tonight for updated VGA driver. I also notice there is a 1008 beta bios up now, I will be trying that tonight also. I have been pounding Asus tech support with emails asking for a 1004 clone with E4 support maybe this is it
