overclocklable cele 1.2 gig! or 1.1?

I AM PLANNING TO BUY CELERON 1.2 GIG AND OVERCLOCK IT.
OR ALTERNATELY 1.1 GIG.
WHICH MOTHERBOARD WILL BE BST FOR ME?
SHOULD I GO FOR TUA 266 OT TUSL2C
ARE SOLTEK MOBO GOOD FOR OVERCLOCKING.
I PLAN TO OVERCLOCK 12*167=2GIG.
WILL IT BE VIABLE?

Abit ST6 works well with the Tualatin Celerons. I have a Cel 1.2 running at 1600 at 1.6V on an ST6 rock solid. Lots of people using the ST6 on the new celerys. TUSL does not have 1/4 divider until you get over 133FSB which causes PCI bus problems from 125-133FSB. 1600 is the upper limit with air cooling and takes some luck. 1500 is more reasonable. If you get one of the new 1.0A or 1.1A celertins you can run at 1500 with a higher FSB than the (12X) 1.2 for better memory bandwidth. Get the ST6 for around $85, you will not be sorry.

Getting a Tualatin to 1.6 can be quite Difficult. Many wont make it. 1.5 is easily done. 2 GHz? Not a chance. Here is my take:

1.0a 10 x 150 fsb = 1500mhz
1.1a 11 x 136 fsb = 1500mhz
1.2 12 x 125 fsb = 1500mhz

My take:

1.2 @ 1500 @ 125 FSB is cool as long as you have a board with a 1/4 PCI @ < 133 FSB like an ABIT ST6. 125/4 = 31.25 PCI. If you don't have that feature (TUSL2), 125/3 = 41.6 PCI...not good.

1.0A @ 1.5 GHz will have a 150 MHz bus which will outperform a 125 MHz FSB. You have to have decent ram for this setup. The 37.5 MHz PCI is not far enough out of spec to be a problem.

1.1 @ 1.5 is a 136 MHz FSB. Also a nice setup. If you don't have great ram, this may be the setup for you. This setup also keeps the PCI and AGP bus very close to spec.

I like the 1.0a @ 1.5 the best. It will be the best performing system.

BTW, the caps lock key is the one on the left between the shift and the tab heys.

In Nov/2001 I built a PC for my granddaughters with an Intel 800Mhz Celeron processor on a Asus mobo a TUV4X Pro133T Tualatin. Much to my surprise when I did post and the bios came up it was already setting on 1066Mhz. It pretty much oc-ed itself and the FSB was at 133. It's as fast as the blink of an eye and the girls love it. Also it has not locked up at all. I also ran 3Dmark2000 just to see what the temp would be. It was 42 degrees also checked the temp after a boot and it was 37 degrees. Not only do the girls love it but I am satisfied with a job well done on my first PC that I built. Going to build one for my other granddaughter with a 900Mhz Celeron, same mobo. Can't wait to see what happens with it. Good luck on yours.
