Overhaul 86' CRX engine

I'm surprised there are so many clean CRX on our Craigslist right now, they are usually half done rice, or rusted out. Wish I had the money and time to take it off your hands, I am in Reynoldsburg.

Depending on how soon you need it gone, you might be better off the eBay route, but you will definitely be able to get the 1500 locally at some point.

With no rust? That's hard to believe from an ohio car lol. Especially an almost 30 year old Honda. Ha

Yeah, the ads say clean, but that is open to interpretation. My friend bought one several years ago (I believe it was an '88 or '89), and it was very rusty, obviously spent most of it's life in the Midwest.

When I lived in New Mexico back in '07, I picked up an '80 Toyota Corolla with no rust, that had mostly been in California. That was a fun car, very light, 5 speed, and RWD. Made a profit selling that one, although I do miss it.

Sold it yesterday for $850. Better than nothing! Hoping to see it on the road one day.

Update. Bought another CRX. Si, 5 speed, large book of maintenance records.

Only issue is the rear quarter panel rust. Going to a body shop to get an estimate

Swapping it to a fuel injected version of the engine would not be easy. First the engine computer would either be different or your existing one reprogrammed. Second, there is a good chance the wiring harness from the computer to the engine would need to be changed. So unless all that comes with the new engine, it is a hard job. Also fuel injection needs higher fuel pressure, so fuel pump would need upgrade.

Seriously though, don't junk that. Someone will buy it even with the toasted engine. You aren't going to get a lot of $ for it... but better than scrap value probably.

Damn, I almost bought an '87 CRX Si in 1990 for $5.5K - would have held its value quite well I hope it treats you well.

Yep I think I sold it around 1,000 last year? Engine was in bad shape. Body was pretty good though.
