Overheard in a doctor's office

So I was taking my wife to get her knee checked out after a surgery, and an elderly trio were sitting across from me in an otherwise empty office.

Obama was campaigning on the television:

Guy #1: I'm so sick of this election crap I wish it were over.
Woman #1: Can you believe that this guy could be president - he isn't even from the United States


Guy #1: Yea, they should only let people born in the United States be president.



ME: Ummm. . . actually Obama was born in the US - Hawaii actually - and you have to be a natural born citizen to be candidate for the President.

Guy #1: he doesn't have any experience to be president.

ME: Neither did Lincoln - but it worked out ok.

Them: Silent glare for over 10 minutes. . . .


Sigh.

Based simply on the Texas National Guard members I've met, I'd say so. In Afghanistan, we literally needed a latino translator to understand what they were saying on the radios, their leadership spoke Spanish to everyone in formation, and they also requested Spanish-to-Pashtun/Dari translators to speak to the locals during their missions... no shit.

anyways... I just figured I'd throw my own anecdote into this anecdotal thread.

i've never heard hillary called any of those things irl, however i have heard the whole imigrant/muslim/terrorist/etc thing repeated from multiple people.
