Overrated movies/tv

Pulp Fiction
Usual Suspects: I did think it was good but not as great as everyone else seems to make it sound
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: One of my favorite movies, actually. I'm not sure why I think it's overrated. Mostly, I think there are parts I would have done differently.

Then please, humor US and list the shows you think are funny. Seinfeld owned its timeslot and had the highest Neilson ratings every week it was on, not to mention the #1 sitcom ever ranking by TV Guide.

So then general popularity of a show proves it's funny? Do we now decide if something is funny by the democratic method, and everyone else that disagrees is full of it? Really, is that the way of things? :roll:

Okay, maybe that's a bit over the top, but please don't confuse the popularity of a show with how funny it is. Seinfeld, The Simpsons & Everyone Loves Raymond have all been very popular sitcoms, yet I can't stand any one of them. Does that make me wrong? No, it's just a matter of my tastes being different than yours.

What do I find funny? Go watch reruns of MASH. They'll be on syndication decades from now, when the undereducated children of the world have forgotten that there was ever a war in Korea, or understand what a MASH unit was. Better yet, go check out an old series from the 70's, called "SOAP". The big break for Billy Crystal, and as funny a show as you'll ever find. Or watch the old 70's versions of Saturday Night Live, with the original (and still funniest) "Not ready for primetime players". They put today's cast to shame, and will, for the most part, be the most popular, and most successful, of the NRFPTP's.

And on that note, I'd like to close with a classic line from Chevy Chase (which was never rehearsed, and done completely off the cuff, which resulted in the shocked look from Jane Curtin), "Jane, you ignorant SLUT!!" :laugh:

I thought the "Pianist" was overated. Shock and awe movie with a loser hero who spends the whole movie running and hiding.

King of the Hill, that is a funny show. Did anyone see where the guys burn down the firehouse and each person is giving their account and then when Boomhower gives his he is talking normal and everyone is talking giberish. Pure genius.

Umm, all of those Drama TV series. Some are good, like 24, but then it's going downhill, and isn't as good as what people say. Except, maybe it is compared to all that other CRAP thats on. In fact, 99.999999999 infiniti % of tv shows.

Meh, King of the Hill had a few moments that mad me chuckle but nothing worth while. I know a lot of people who think Madtv and Blue Collar suck as well, but why the hell are they still on the air?

the usual suspects was horrible

the ending was obvious, but even to those who didn't figure it out, if you think about it.. all it did was give u the unexpected... the movie itself was weak as heck
