Played the game throughout beta. Couldn't stand all the hackers on there. Artificial Advantage was selling thousands of licenses for their aimbot and they were the only ones.

It was really bad how much hacking was going on in that game. What sucks is if you don't notice the matchmaking just rolls over with the same people game after game, it feels like you are constantly in matches with hackers. Still, chances seemed to be that if you left a match with a hacker to join another random match, that one would have a hacker in it as well.

Pretty much the reason I don't play FPS games like this. The hacking is rampant form CoD, BF, TF, and whatever else.

For those that don't think the hacking was bad, I had written up this post to make on the official forums, but Blizzard locked down the forums before I could complete the post. So I'll post it here in it's original entirety.

I'm also still laughing royally at all the recent banned "pro" player accounts from TF2 with Steam finally getting their hands on LMAOBOX hacking software source code and banning a crap ton of players which included many "pro" players of that game.

Beyond the cheaters though, I did enjoy the games that didn't have a hacker/aimbot in it. Those weren't many, but there were some. I have footage of me doing very well in those instances. Although the game revolved a bit too much around which team could get the Q's up more often and coordinate their team work on those Q's more than anything else really. Still, I enjoyed playing darn near every character in the game. Only zenyatta was the champ I felt a bit underwhelming compared to any other champ due to being a support that can't heal himself.

I do feel like they need more to the game. A co-op story line would certainly see me buying the game because I have zero interested in the hacker fest that MP brings to these games.
Where do you see that Artifical Aiming is hacking OW? I google hacks for OW and I can't find any websites that are offering subscriptions for OW hacks. Hacking in OW is very low since every company is scared of Blizzard cuz of law suits and shit. I don't think OW will have much hackers like in CSGO. CSGO 70% of the population hacks.

I said artifical advantage, not artificial aiming. Those are two different companies. Artificial advantage had a promo video on youtube for their OW aimbot until about 2 days before the end of beta.

Supposedly pulled.. but I doubt it.

Rip don't worry though hacking in OW will be minimal imo. Blizzard actually cares for once.

Doubt it. Also your talk of lawsuits means nothing. Making software aimbots and wallhacks for games are completely legal. To both make and use. All any company can do is ban the users of those products from their products.

True but hacking companies are scared of Blizzard cuz they can actually sue them and set them a couple years in prison.

Then again the game is not out yet, I doubt there will be many hacking websites that is offering OW hacks. Maybe I'm wrong. Time will tell.

Oh and FPS PC is always fill with hacks like you mentioned above so nothing new here really. Just look at shitty csgo full of scumbags. OW will be on of them. I hope not though. I actually like OW. :'(

To the bold, that is misinformation. Again, it is not illegal at all for companies to make third party software that works in conjunction with another software application regardless of whether the initial company wants it or not. Blizzard has already tried to take legal action in Europe (with much tougher laws on this issue) and lost. They can't do squat and the developers making cheats know this.

If there is a demand for the cheats, the companies that put out the products will make them. Whether it's LMAOBOX for TF2, or Bots of Legends for League of Legends, or Artificial Aiming/Advantage for the plethora of CoD, BF, and other FPS games out there; a product will be made.

blizzard is hiring.

http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=16000AW

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, ANTI-CHEAT

I know a bit of that, but wouldn't call myself a master with some of those tools. Used Olly and a few others to do some fun hacks on some really bad games back in the day to learn how to do it as a software developer.

I'd say that is a mighty list of job requirements though. I have 20 years of software development, in other areas, but they asking for fun stuff. Usually those kind of people are bred in house. Then they get bored of the "system" and go rogue making the hacks and cheats later because it pays better.

Your Hearthstone luck must be leaking into Overwatch, because I really don't recall seeing many matches where I thought people were just unbelievably good. The only times I really had those sort of situations were when I watched the kill cam to see that the enemies had Wall Hacks (Widowmaker's ultimate) up. Of course, I'm not trying to say that cheating never happens, but I don't recall seeing it.

Out of curiosity, does it look like I'm cheating in this video? Of course, I'm not actually cheating (I don't do that sort of thing), but my movements are definitely different than normal. I think that was just one of those moments when I was "in the zone" and reacting rather than thinking. (That's how I pegged that Torbjorn so quickly.)

Still, I enjoyed playing darn near every character in the game. Only zenyatta was the champ I felt a bit underwhelming compared to any other champ due to being a support that can't heal himself.

Mercy can't heal herself either. Now, before you say, "But Mercy has built-in regeneration!", keep in mind that Zenyatta's health is divided among 50 health and 100 shields. That means that after 3 seconds of not taking damage, his shields will be able to regenerate. Mercy has the exact same rule for her automatic regeneration.

I do feel like they need more to the game. A co-op story line would certainly see me buying the game because I have zero interested in the hacker fest that MP brings to these games.

I really don't like Blizzard's stance on the Overwatch story. In the Gamespot video, their stance was pretty much, "We're going to give you the basics and let the rest remain a mystery!" Now, let me translate BlizzSpeak™ for you... "We're going to barely flesh out this story so we can push our lore-loving players to buy books, graphic novels, videos, etc. Someone get ol' Knack on the line!" They do make some videos and comics, but I've thought that the majority of them were pretty lackluster. The only comic that I enjoyed was Reinhardt's and I did like today's Shimada (Genji and Hanzo) video. It's just really hard for them to top the original announcement cinematic.

Just wondering where did you guys pre purchased the game? And how much? To people who purchased the game outside Blizz did the company you bought it of said you will get the key on the 23rd or 24th? Just curious.

I bought the collector's edition from Amazon. I'm assuming that my game will still be delivered on the 24th.

EDIT:

Actually, the game will be arriving on May 23rd according to this Amazon e-mail...

Again, most people aren't looking for cheaters when they play. On top of that, it's hard to tell without being killed by one to get a killcam sequence. The POTG may or may not be of the aimbot. Even then, the replay sequences are fairly short and may not give good evidence of aimbots unless you really know what to look for. I recorded hours of play on the last few days and ran into no less than 6 different aimbot cheaters. That video was one of them I did up. There were others.

As far as your sequence goes. No it doesn't look at all like an aimbot. There was snap shots to the head. Your tracking was normal with over panning in directions you were aiming as well as no fighting over control against an aimbot. There were many a missed shot that hit the wall behind that Mcgree in that POTG. Using soldier 76's Q at the end is a built in legal aimbot special ability.

It looked nothing like an aimbot or cheating at all. All one has to do is slow down the youtube replay to 0.25 to see it in slow motion and see the over panning, the missed shots on the wall, the mostly body shots, and lack of large snapping motions across inches of the screen at a time to realize that your video was not an aimbot. I don't know why you would think your movements are different than normal. Look normal to me for a regular person playing an FPS on a replay.

drastic change in aim after being told to "turn it off"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgKOO4K9F2E
keep snapping back to temporary invulnerable targets

Yah the reposts of the "pro" players taimou and surefour are being discussed every where. First main post was on the Neogaf forums here:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1216223

With tons of break down on the aimbots. Funny thing is there are still people trying to defend them despite the evidence that makes such a position indefensible. I believe one of those players was kicked off their team though because of it.

I know Taimou tried to defend his actions saying the replay was messing up and wasn't showing what he saw on the screen. Unfortunately he had already released the footage of that same game prior to the hacking claims and his own recording showed him snapping to targets just like the replay and spectator modes all did.

There are several dozen vids of Taimou and surefour both using aimbots in various matches from titanfall to overwatch game plays.

Is this an official indication of Monday afternoon/evening US release?

https://twitter.com/Jaerock83/status/732402521243705345

Someone in the reddit thread mentioned cancelling and refiling the Amazon preorder to update the shipment arrival date to Monday (5/23)... and it worked!

It was confirmed (today) that the retail version would be available one day earlier (23rd). But the servers won't be online until the 24th.

Eh, no, that's a Blizzard dev saying OW will be *live* on Monday 4pm PT. That's exactly midnight Tuesday BST (not GMT as it's summer and we're on daylight time in the US/summer time in the UK).

Note that the open beta early access also started Monday 4pm PDT, though the announcements all said 5/3 (Tuesday).

Yeah, I just bought the regular edition straight through the battle.net application. Good enough for me.

Why not get the $40 normal edition direct from the blizzard site? Unless you care about the skins for an extra $20...

I know two people who had to refund the $60 version to get the $40 version after they got tricked by the "buy overwatch" button

it is a little.. confusing? If you click on the Buy Overwatch button it takes you straight to the Origins Edition ($60), and doesn't really do any sort of job letting you know that there are other versions. The information is there, but they don't make it easy to get at.

I knew there was standard edition so I just fished around until I found it, but if someone had no idea I could see how they'd think that the $60 *was* the Standard Ed

60 kinda is the standard edition. For PC only there is a reduced budget version of $40, although with either prime/BB or sales like at walmart right now you can get the regular edition on most platforms for not much more than the pc budget version.
