exactly. Somehow, making sure these assholes maintain their profits, regardless of inflation or anything else going on in the world--e.g., they are absolutely not the ones that need to "chip in" to get through any of this--seems to be all the GQP cares about. Why is it that prices need to go up? Oh, we need to same profit. that's all. It has nothing to do with the costs we incur, because that has nothing to do with profit. We just need to make sure that everyone else is taking it on the chin. Never us.

Listening to Market Report the other day, in conversation about inflation and predictions through the summer, the analyst's casual assertion was that "Once these companies recover their losses from the last 2 or 3 years, we expect prices to go back to normal." Lol--what a fucking euphemism. Make sure that these folks are getting wealthier and wealthier every year, completely untouched by the death and destruction that they are largely responsible for. None of this has anything to do with paying their employees or increased costs in their production line. Nah, they just don't want to share the burden that the world faces
