People hated it because the trailer showed a terribly stupid and un-funny movie. It wasted the talent of those women. When Sony realized what a disaster they had, they started deleting general negative comments and left the nasty mysoginist ones. They pushed the false narrative you see in the comic. Gullible motherfuckers across the whole Blogosphere fell for it and you're helping to perpetuate it.
Guys resented the fact that they were called "mysoginist" for hating something that was clearly terrible, regardless of the genders of the cast.
Poor James Rolfe was excoriated by SJW bloggers across the Internet for saying he wasn't interested in seeing the movie. He gave very good reasons (hint: none of them had anything to do with gender) and is now labeled as the Internet's most notorious mysoginist.
Not being interested in a movie that looks terrible = "MYSOGINY!!!!"
