Now don't get me wrong, I talked a lot of shit about Quayle back in the day too, always considered him just another low IQ elected follower. But having said that, his contact with Pence over the 2020 election was probably a big deal and given the stakes, I now find it hard to bash the guy. He was on the right side of the issue, history, and didn't sell out to culture war fascists in love with a Russian asset.
Vivek Ramaswamy on the other hand, shares Trump's hatred for facts and thinks an organized coup with multiple fake elector plots was all just 'bad judgement.'
They are not the same. Dan might have been an out of touch coattail riding peon with spelling difficulties, but at least he's not a fascist who defends treason for political gain.
I don't like how Pence is freely allowed to argue that "he!" made the decision to save democracy over that taught week, rather than being constantly reminded, by everyone, that he had to be brought to "Seek council" from anyone, regardless if it was Dan fucking Quayle or not, on whether or not he had the legal authority to end the constitution simply because he wanted to.
It's fucking unfathomable that these fucking shitheads parade this fucking horseshit around as if they are some magical heroes that aren't, to their absolute cores, pure fascist bastards.
Reminds me of the old Chris Rock bit about the deadbeat dad being proud of what they are supposed to do by default: "See, look at me, I didn't destroy the constitution...but I needed someone else to tell me that I shouldn't do that!"
