what I remember about the day after Bush declared war on Iraq (no semantics--that's what he fucking did, unless you think Putin didn't declare war against Ukraine), is that I was living in Chicago and there were about 20-30k+ people downtown protesting for about two days (including myself) with the usual result of cops showing up and getting a bit abusive. And it's not like most of the dems weren't pointing out this nonsense very loudly and publicly, leading up to Bush's unstoppable desire to start this nonsense war.
