P180 months later... disappointing.

The P180 case as everyone must know is a case that just kicks ass.

Initially, when I bought this case sometime in October, I felt that the front door was a little flimsy. Later on, the door started to bend, meaning it doesn't look that nice and simplistic anymore. Possible cause would be too much glue. Now, the metallic "noise dampening thingy" on the door on the right, one which I barely touch, is starting to unstick from the door.

Antec shows it's quality in the inside of the case, however, the outside tells a different story. Maybe it's just bad design.

Antec is sending out replacement doors. I don't think you even have to send your old one in.

The P-180 guys will post to offer support. Many have already recieved up-graded doors.

Yeah, doors are free. Just send in an RMA form, you don't have to send the old door back.

Someone suggested keeping the door closed and locked to help prevent warping (bowing). I looked at one at CompUSA one day and I can see where that would be good advice.

My door is also doing the same thing. It bulges out now. Not that it matters too much.

Yeah my door was doing that when I got mine, but *shrugs* I keep the door open and pushed back against the side of the case all the time anyway, so I don't care so much. But I have to agree with VIAN, the case does kick ass inside. Very well designed aside from the stupid VGA cooler.

i only had my p180 for 3 months or so before i got rid of it. they sent me a new panel when mine started going wonky but i think the overall quality of the case is lacking.

meh just the door? the rest is pretty sweet with the dampening and all. even the p150 doesn't compare, just tap it and hear that dull dull thud. its awesome

Same problem here - it just bends in the middle + the metal part is popping out right next to the lock... i hope i can order a new door soon and that they ship it to SLOVAKIA/Europe too lets see

I've got a PC 7 and I had to do considerable mods on it to get it up to my standards. The blanks in front are flimsy and I replaced the wimpy 80mm exhaust with a speed-controled 120mm. It only holds 2 HD's and I had to mod the cage to get proper cooling for my Raptors. Added some sound proofing as well. Also the darn front USB port(s) has a short in it somewhere so I was never able to ues it. Consumer grade computer equipment leaves a lot to be desired....no matter how much you spend on it.

I've got one sat by my feet and i love the thing, apart from the door which is crap. Anyone know how you're supposed to get hold of a new door for the thing?

They went to the trouble of tripple layered side pannels to damp resonance, then cut the budget for the front door till it's a cheap flimsy piece of crap. Think i'm going to have to get the epoxy resin and some mass damping material out for it at this rate.

i haven't done anything to my door...but this is a nice case. all the sound dampening makes you want to dampen every piece of metal in the whole case. can i order one even if my door isn't broken?

by the way, what is everybody b itching about? this isn't a hard case to put together at all. the cables can get a LITTLE frustrating, but nothing to whine and complain about.

Yeah, recieved that my self too - but i think it wont help much with the metal coming out - what acctaully bothers me the most. Ill have to reply to what Antec sent me to get a replacement door too i fear.

Ever since I saw that the panels were plastic on a demo model at Microcenter, I've never really liked the P180.
