Hrm...

Well, it all depends on YOU...

Both cases are very, very, nice!

The P182 is a well thought-out, refined, normal sized case. If you're a 'normal' kinda guy, this is the case for you...

The CM S830 Evo, on the other hand, is a @#$%^&! MONSTER!!!

If you're a 'nutty' kinda guy, this case or a Thermaltake Armor EE would be the way to go...

Given the two choices, I personally would go with the Evo!

I guess you don't as those cases are apples and oranges. If you are willing to spend that much on a case, you should also be looking at the Silverstone Temjin 9. But that would just muddy the waters further - but at least it is in the same category as the CM while the Antec is not.

I really like the p182. Just because of it new wire management, and i own a p180. Depeneds on your taste really.

tj-09 >>>>>>>>>> then all the cases mentioned,

However the akasa which zep's been promoting is definitely something to look at also

I'm not promoting anything - if I was, I'd have mentioned it above. As I said, folks have been wanting the Akasa Eclipse and that Global Win is as close as you can get in the US right now. Apparently I was a bit behind the curve as those who wanted the Akasa already knew about the Global Win when I thought I had uncovered something new. Personally, I won't buy anything with the Ultra name on it, but others may now want to wait to see what they have done with their version of the same case.
. To want the Global Win/Akasa or similar (like the Chenbro SR10568/69), you have to know what you want and can recognize it when you've found it. Apparently neither applies to the OP...

What kind of 'new' wire management does the P182 have over the P180?

The 182 have the mother board moved in and cut out joles so you can hide wires behind the motherboard

okay thanks. what about dimensions? is the 182 slightly larger than 180 or is it pretty much the space measurement inside the case.

I got the Black P-182 shiped to me after I ordered the P-180 LOL the box even said it was a P-180.

I really like this case better than i thought seems to keep my system cool, can overclock a e660 to 3.7 stabel on air ( and using a zalman 9500). DS3 2gig of Gskill ram, EVGA 7950 GT ko card.

The only thing I dont like about it is that it is very cramped between the PSU and cooling fan. Makes it hard to attach the power cabels on modular CPU ( using a Corsair 620)

u want watercooling in the future:

CM STacker will make it all internal

Your going to stay with air:

P182 will outperform the stacker in cooling on air thanks to the two fans right on that corner.

There are 2 diff. versions of the stacker. one has 2 psu bays and 1 - 120mm rear fan and the other has 1 psu bay and 2 - rear 120mm fans.

Both can hold 3 - 120mm fans in the front. So the P182 can hold more than 5 - 120mm fans ?

I just looked at the P182, it will not beat the stacker w/ a max of 5 - 120mm fans.

BTW, I always replace the coolermaster fans w/ ninja scyntha fans and panaflow's for the rears.

see this pic:

If it can keep 8 - 15K Fuj scsi drives cool , it will keep whatever you got cool.

what I would say if you want to do water cooling it can be done with the P-182, even internal I saw someone here that did it but it was cramp that is for sure. If you want air cooling and have it with out it being loud get a P-182. Be preparied for less room to work with even with air.
If you are sure you want to water cool there others than a CM but I realy like the CM too.
The Akasa Eclipse case is also for sale now in the US and is a very nice case for cooling and room, I was holding out to but this case but bought my system 5 days before it was for sale here. this case has some very nice reviw's from the Overclock form's and a lot of other sites.

looking at all the pics of the 182

i just don't see the justification of the price difference with this over the 180

especially if the configuration is all on air-cooling.

mmmm... tell me your not counting the fans to consistitue which case is better for cooling.

Because the Antec's stragic fan port locations, which the STACKER doesnt have, will beat it in performance on AIR.

Also you can gain about a 3-4C decrease in temps if you DUCT system an addon to the two exhaust ports right above and next to the CPU block.

So no a stacker wont beat the p180 class in air cooling. Im sorry, but your majorly fooling yourself if you think it can.

The stacker does have uber room, but the op didnt say room was a big concern. He just mearly asked which is better.

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p73/aigomorla/IMG_0406.jpg

My nas doesnt have all those drives you have, but she has 2 750gigers, and 1 500 giger, and is expected an upgrade of 2 more 750gigers pretty soon. So i think she can keep up with your stacker. And mine probably coolers better, also she can clock at 2.8ghz AMD scale if need be.

So if your going to water, then get the stacker. Hands down, the most watercooling friendly case i have got to play with.

If your going on air, stay with the p180, but i promise you, that is one hell of a hard case to watercool. Dont believe me? pm Neal.

There are plenty of locations on the stacker to mod for air flow.

The stacker can keep a system w/ 12 hd's running cool.. I know, we have several Opteron's and e6600 systems w/ 250/500 WD RE drives running 24/7 . All are cool.

As far as noise is concerned, there are a lot of variables.. PSU, case fans, etc. On one system the video card's fan was heard over the 3 - 120mm fans.

Another system the Zippy 750w psu was heard over every computer in the room.

But cooling and space the antec doesn't come close to the stacker. I've 8-10 stackers in place right now and still haven't found a better case in the single tower config. But to each his own.

Jose
