P35 or 680i

They target different market segments... But in identical configurations how does the P35's memory controller stack up against the 680's?

Techreport shows a comparison between the 975X, P35, and the 680i

However, one thing stands out for the p35. Its a monster of a OCer, supports the upcoming cpus such as penryn, and 1333fsb.

Nobody know if the 680I will support penryn and 1333 fsb. It may indeed be possible with bios adjustments and EVGA even let people RMA their early revision boards to get better support for quads so the current revision board may work. No one knows.

I for one am hoping the 680 does support it since its such a nice motherboard and has treated me very well. The P35s are coming in now and some people have been haveing good results so if you are buying a new motherboard and can do without sli they may be a good future proof investment-I hate saying future proof-
