Hey guys,
I have a few questions for you.
First of all:
P4 2.4B
MSI 845PE Max
512MB ValueRAM PC2700
350W Power Supply (I am getting a new one next paycheck along with more RAM)
Zalman 7000A Cu Heatsink
4 Vantec case fans
Processor:
Idle Temp: 30C
Load Temp: Mid 30s
Case:
Idle: 29-30C
Load: Low 30s
Okay so right now I have upped the FSB to 145 and 149 with voltage at 1.525V and AGP/PCI at AUTO, and everything was fine - the temps were still at 34C Idle and just about 40C Load . I ran Prime95 for an hour with the FSB set at 149 and no problems with a max cpu temp of about 44C.
Although I noticed that boot times were taking a bit longer I thought, and also when I upped it to 156 and set the AGP/PCI to 66.07/33.03 the boot time took forever. So I set it back to AUTO and it ended up not booting so I cleared the CMOS and started over.
Questions:
1. Should I up the voltage a bit? .25? .50? How much? (Remember 350W PS)
2. Is the 66.07/33.03 setting correct for AGP/PCI?
3. Also, why would it take longer to boot when its overclocked?
Thanks!
