Am i wrong or wasn't there supposed to be an indepth article on P43/45 motherboards here about 2 months ago? All i can find in an early review of a single Asus P45 board. Did Anadtech just stop doing motherboard reviews?

You're not wrong. There's a list of articles that have been promised but haven't shown up. Off the top of my head are 690G/other integrated chipset roundup and P35 roundup from last year, P43/P45 article as you've stated, the Ubuntu article (and we're a month away from a new version of it, making any article using 7.10 / 8.04 outdated), a 790GX review of any sort, and the 780G / GeForce 8200 article. Though with part 1 of an IGP series up it's possible we may soon see those last two, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not a fan of the "delay everything for 6 months just so we can include Intel's sub-par onboard graphics in an article" school of writing. To me that certainly appears to be what was done here.

Count me in for hoping that the AT P43/P45 MB roundup materializes. I would also hope that most of the MB benchmarking is done with recent BIOS versions, rather than the initial release versions.

As this would be nice to see, don't get your hopes up as with the introduction of the i7 is probably why we haven't seen many reviews. Why would they as with Nahalem just around the corner, They're spending all their time testing and reviewing the soon to arrive X58.

I doubt it, there's been 15 reviews of digital cameras in the same amount of time there's been 1....yes one! motherboard review. The P45 is probably the best selling motherboard over the last 4 months and just look at the number of questions about it in the forums. We were told there'd be a review of the P43/45 that's now over 2 months overdue.

Well I am sure that the p45 boards are close to best selling, but like I said I think they are consentrating on the soon to be released x58. The LGA775 is EOL and the newer 1160/1366 will be the focus of most reviews ( early ) and as soon as they become released. I too would like to have some reviews but in the marketing sector, why would you spend time on an EOL socket when the newer soon to be released is just a couple of months away?

There's at least 300 or 400 good reasons to go with a P43/45 motherboard and a core2 duo or quad core CPU for the great majority of people that use PCs, even enthusiasts. Compare a $200 CPU, $120 motherboard and 4 GB of DDR2 RAM to an i7, X58 and 4GB of DDR3 RAM.

I am not disagreeing with you, I am extreemly happy with all that I own and will be ( what I set up ) for a few years. And not to be mistaken that some day I will own the i7 platform , but don't get your hopes up for a bunch of reviews, if any....

What?s the point of saying something and not doing it, Anand has been doing this for a while now. Anand new that the new i7 boards and CPU?s where scheduled to be release in the 4Q yet promised to do a full review of P43/45 boards. They need to employ more people and follow thru on promises I think.
