Maxtor 20 gig 7200 rpm HD
Linksys 10/100
when I started up for the first time I just got a blank screen but no beeps, I thought maybe the vid card was a problem so I switched it out for my Radeon 8500, still I got nothing.
So I cleared the cmos and tried again with the Geforce, still I got nothing, but at some point on one of my atempts I got a beep code, it was 3 short beeps then a pause, this repeated a few times while I looked in the manual for the code, it didn't match anything in the manual.
I cleared cmos again and reseated the Ram just to be sure, rebooted and nothing exept for a short flash on screen with the vid card info.
so I disconnected the power, took out the cmos battery and put jumper cap on the "clear cmos jumper pins and left it for 30 seconds
I then put it all back together and this time when it started the vid card info just kept slowly fading in and out a few times untill finally it went through a system check.... told me about some checksum error and that bios defaults had been loaded, I hit DEL and got into the bios FINALLY, I only made 3 changes in there, I set the vid card setting for AGP instead of PCI, set the date, and the boot sequence. I hit save and exit and now it's back to the vid card info just fading in and out.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
Thanx.
