Hello, I am looking at purchasing a new P4 motherboard. I am looking at the DDR motherboard because I already have DDR memory. But there are a few things that bother me.
I have been reading a lot of threads lately about the Asus P4B266 having problems with the USB 1.1 when the FSB is overclocked. I am wondering if its related to the 845D chipset or if its motherboard related. Most of the problems I've read about seem to happen at a FSB of 133 or greater, but some have experienced the problem with the FSB at 120.
Also, the other bad report on the Asus P4B266 is that the temp sensor does not seem to work until the CPU gets over 40c. What motherboard does the temp sensor work correctly on?
Are motherboards based on the SIS chipset as stable as those based on the 845D chipset?
One last question. What motherboards support a 4:5 clock multiplier?
Any and all DDR motherboard recomendations welcome.
Thanks for any info.
