I tried changing some tuning settings recommended on this forum, and ended up with a problem. After configuring the first "set" of parameters, and rebooting, I got a BIOS checksum error. (I had already flashed to the latest - 1014 I think) It asked for a floppy to do a BIOS recovery. I did, but it still would not boot. I ended up, clearing the CMOS memory, and setting the BIOS back up to "standard" timing, and was able to get it boot again.
Not sure what I did wrong to cause such a problem. Honestly, I can't believe anything I could set in BIOS could cause an error like a checksum. So, I am on hold in terms of tuning for now. I am afraid to try anything else, as I may mess the BIOS up again.
Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong, or why this error?
Thanks.....
